President William Ruto’s son George Ruto appears set to expand his growing matatu operation, with a new video showing six vehicles being prepared under the 98 brand.

The footage was shared on Thursday, September 17, by matatu electrician and lighting specialist @jaramba_lighting. It shows the six vehicles inside a go-down, with their lights switched on as they undergo upgrades.
The matatus are fitted with colourful LED lighting, giving the dark workshop a display similar to the customised interiors associated with Nairobi’s nganya culture.

The video gives a glimpse of the vehicles before they are put into operation.
Although the footage does not give details of their individual names or the exact date they will hit the road, its caption reads simply:
“98 logistics.”

The post comes shortly after the team behind George’s Raptor Family introduced 98 Logistics, a project that was teased online in August.
At the time, several matatus were seen inside a garage being fitted with 98 branding, although details about the project’s exact structure and operations were not immediately provided.
The latest footage now appears to offer a closer look at some of the vehicles associated with that expansion.

From Raptor Family to 98 Sacco

George launched the 98 Matatu Sacco in June 2026, according to previous reports. The Sacco became the reported home of the growing Raptor Family fleet, which includes vehicles such as Raptor, Money Fest, Matrix, Mood, Baba Yaga, Manifest and Ambush.
The vehicles have gained attention for their customised designs and entertainment features, reflecting the popularity of Kenya’s nganya culture.

98 Logistics points to expansion

The latest development suggests the 98 brand could be moving beyond the smaller group of highly customised vehicles that initially attracted public attention.
An August report on the 98 Logistics project noted that the vehicles being prepared appeared different from some of the established Raptor Family units. However, the team had not publicly explained whether the project would operate as a separate transport venture or simply expand the existing fleet.
The six vehicles now shown in the latest footage add another indication that the operation is expanding.
