First Lady Rachel Ruto has raised concern over the growing threat of online exploitation of children, saying governments must strengthen cooperation with technology companies, parents and communities to create safer digital spaces. She said Kenyan authorities received more than 46,000 reports of online child sexual abuse material in 2023. Rachel also called for stronger international cooperation to combat human trafficking and disrupt financial networks supporting exploitation.
