The Parents Association is calling for the National Parents Association to become an independent, government-funded corporate body. Chair Silas Obuhatsa says the proposal should be included in the Basic Education Act 2026, giving the association legal capacity to sue and be sued and employ staff. He also wants Parents Teachers Associations scrapped in schools, arguing they create confusion, with parents instead represented through the National Parents Association.
