Tanzanian singer Nandy has addressed persistent speculation surrounding her relationship with fellow Bongo Flava star Zuchu.Speaking on Saturday, September 13, during the 40-day celebration of Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu's daughter, Nandy dismissed long-standing claims of a rift between the two musicians.

For years, fans across East Africa have suspected a quiet rivalry between the continent's two most prominent female artistes.

However, Nandy made it clear that their interaction off-camera tells a completely different story.

"No, we weren't trying to prove anything to anyone. Here, we are just real; we know how we connect when we meet because we run into each other a lot off-camera, at studios, and elsewhere."

Shared Spaces in Bongo Flava

Nandy explained that their professional paths cross regularly within music industry circles.

Both artistes frequently work in the same production spaces across Dar es Salaam.

"Like when I'm recording, or she's recording, I see her at Swahbiz, at Lizer's… We chat and talk about a lot of things," Nandy added, referencing prominent music producers in the Bongo Flava scene.

Addressing the competition often manufactured by fans and commentators, Nandy emphasized that both singers have achieved enough success to thrive without animosity.

"Because she's a successful artiste, and I'm a successful artiste… the pie is big enough."

She added that their individual achievements remove any reason for professional jealousy or bad blood.

"Basically, we have no reason to hate each other because everyone is getting what they're striving for in their music," she said.
