Public Health PS Mary Muthoni says her department has prepared a Cabinet memo seeking approval to set aside one day each month for Kenyans to clean their estates and surroundings. Muthoni says the initiative would encourage residents to clean up estates, markets and neighbourhoods. She said regular community clean-ups would promote a cleaner environment while serving as a critical and cost-effective strategy for preventing diseases and improving public health.
