Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has once again sparked conversation online after opening up about her experiences with Kenyan men and explaining why she would rather remain single than marry a Kenyan man.
Huddah, who recently returned to social media after taking a months-long break, made the remarks in a TikTok video shared on Tuesday, September 8.
The outspoken businesswoman criticised what she described as the way some Kenyan men approach women, saying she prefers interactions where people respect personal boundaries.
Huddah Wants Men to Ask for Permission

According to Huddah, she has become accustomed to environments where men approach women more formally and respectfully.
“You know, I’m used to being in environments where men actually ask for permission to speak to you. Excuse me, ma’am, permission to speak freely,” she said.

She contrasted that with her experiences with some Kenyan men, claiming that they sometimes approach her with a level of familiarity she does not appreciate.
The socialite said she often finds it strange when someone she has not seen for years approaches her as though they have maintained a close relationship.
“If I don’t live with you, I haven’t seen you in ten years, twenty years, I do not remember you,” she stated.
Her comments suggest that, for Huddah, the issue is less about men approaching women and more about how those interactions are initiated.
‘They Will Still End Up Disrespecting You’
Huddah further claimed that even when she tries to be polite and engage in conversations, some interactions eventually become uncomfortable.
She alleged that some men make remarks she considers inappropriate or disrespectful.
“And even if you’re nice and engage in a conversation with them, these… will still end up disrespecting you. They will say something that is just disgusting,” she said.
The entrepreneur questioned why some men feel entitled to speak to women in ways they would not accept in more formal settings.
Her comments have since generated reactions online, with social media users debating whether her criticism reflects the experiences of other Kenyan women or is simply a reflection of her personal encounters.
Huddah Tells Kenyan Men Not to Greet Her
Huddah went as far as making a direct request to Kenyan men who might encounter her in public.
Rather than approaching her for a conversation, she asked them to simply leave her alone.
“So please, msinisalime. Mkiniona mahali, wache ikae,” she said.

The socialite has previously said that she would rather remain single than marry a Kenyan man, a position she has linked to what she considers disrespectful behaviour from some men.
Her Comments on Marriage
For Huddah, marriage is clearly not something she intends to pursue simply because of societal expectations.
She has previously spoken openly about her past marriage, revealing that she was married at 19 and later divorced her husband.
In a previous account, Huddah said the relationship ended because her former husband was a drug addict.
Her latest remarks therefore appear to come from both her personal experiences and her broader views about dating and relationships.
