The Ministry of Health says it has activated its El Nino preparedness plan in 18 high-risk counties as it seeks support from partners to mitigate the impact of expected heavy rains. Public Health PS Mary Muthoni said the anticipated El Nino required a coordinated response. She noted that lessons from previous disasters had strengthened the ministry’s preparedness and would help minimize the effects of the rains.
