Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’Oei has apologised to Burundian nationals in Kenya following recent attacks linked to the government’s crackdown on undocumented foreign traders. Speaking alongside Burundian Ambassador Evelyne Habonimana, Sing’Oei acknowledged the longstanding peaceful coexistence between Burundians and Kenyans. He clarified that the directive targeted foreigners operating small businesses without required licences and not specific nationalities, regretting that poor communication had created misunderstandings, leaving some Burundians vulnerable to attacks by neighbours.
