Former Italian Catholic priest Sandro Ferretto, widely known as Father Sandro, has officially left the priesthood and tied the knot with his partner, Sharon Jepngok.
The Italian-born ex-cleric exchanged vows with Jepngok, a Tugen woman hailing from Baringo South, marking a complete transition from his former clerical life to matrimony.
The couple celebrated their union surrounded by friends, family, and local community members who gathered to witness the milestone.
The occasion marked the start of a distinct personal journey for the former missionary, who has fully embraced life as a married man in Kenya.
The Diocese of Padua recorded his permanent return from Kenya in December 2019, after his years of missionary service.
His willingness to step into local culture and fully participate in customary rites earned praise from elders and guests in attendance.
Embracing Local Traditions and Culture
Having spent years ministering in the region, Ferretto incorporated traditional Tugen customs into the wedding celebrations, honoring his wife's heritage.
"Life unfolds in unexpected ways, and stepping into this new chapter alongside Sharon while honoring her community's rich culture is a blessing," Sandro Ferretto said.
The couple's ceremony blended local cultural rituals with modern celebrations, earning warm wishes from residents across the county who knew Ferretto during his years of church service.

A Lasting Connection to Baringo
Ferretto is a familiar figure in the region, having previously served as a parish priest in the Kasiela and Mochongoi areas of Baringo County. During his tenure in the clergy, he worked closely with rural communities, building strong ties with local residents.
News of Sandro and Sharon's wedding has attracted congratulatory messages from Kenyans who celebrated the couple as they begin their married life.
While leaving the priesthood represents a major shift in his life's path, his deep connection to Baringo remains unchanged. The couple now begins their new life together, grounded in family, shared values, and community support in Baringo South.
