President William Ruto is set to preside over the passing-out parade of about 3,000 police recruits at the National Police College, Embakasi A Campus.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9 am and will mark the completion of training for the recruits, who are expected to join the National Police Service.
The event is expected to attract senior security officials, with President Ruto serving as the chief guest as the Commander-in-Chief at the passing-out ceremony.
Thousands of police recruits, their families and guests are expected to converge at the Embakasi campus for the event.
Motorists using nearby roads around the college are also expected to experience increased traffic as attendees make their way to the venue.
The parade comes weeks after he presided over the 46th Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) passing-out parade in Eldoret.
Kindiki to host UDA polling centre officials
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is set to host about 30,000 United Democratic Alliance (UDA) polling centre officials from Meru County at Kinoru Stadium.
The meeting is expected to bring together the party’s grassroots officials as Kindiki steps up efforts to strengthen UDA’s support network in Mt Kenya East ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The gathering will provide an opportunity for the Deputy President to engage the party officials and discuss strategies for consolidating UDA’s presence at the grassroots level.
Kindiki has increasingly taken a more active role in party mobilisation, with the ruling party seeking to strengthen its structures ahead of the next elections.
Ndindi Nyoro to hold people’s tour in Ruiru
People’s Party of Kenya leader Ndindi Nyoro is set to hold a People’s Tour in Ruiru as he continues to strengthen his political presence following his recent move into the opposition.
Nyoro will meet residents at Masakuu Market in the afternoon, with the tour expected to provide an opportunity for him to engage locals and rally support for his party.
The Kiharu MP has in recent weeks stepped up his political activities after being announced as the leader of the People’s Party of Kenya about a fortnight ago.
After the Ruiru engagement, Nyoro is scheduled to attend the Association of Medical Students of the University of Nairobi finalists’ dinner in the evening.
