The Bloggers Association of Kenya has raised concern over what it describes as a growing pattern of harassment, intimidation and violence targeting journalists and content creators in the country. The association says attacks on media workers threaten the public’s right to access information and has urged the government to uphold Article 34 of the Constitution, which guarantees media freedom. BAKE is also calling for stronger protection of journalists before, during and after elections, saying a safe media environment is essential for democracy and informed public debate.
