Nairobi biker Brayo has opened up about the reason he almost always rides with his helmet on, revealing that the mystery surrounding his face was never the main reason behind the decision.
Speaking during a podcast interview with Tony Mwirigi, Brayo explained that his earliest followers actually knew what he looked like before he became widely associated with the helmet.
According to Brayo, people who discovered his content when he was still building his audience have seen his face.
“My first fans know my face,” Brayo said, making it clear that hiding his identity was not the motivation behind his now-famous helmet.

He explained that his decision to keep the helmet on was inspired by what he witnessed on Kenyan roads, particularly accidents involving motorcyclists.
“What inspired me kuvaa helmet every time ni juu ya accidents nimeona zikihappen kwa barabara,” he said.
Brayo’s Personal Oath
The biker revealed that seeing the consequences of road accidents pushed him to make a personal commitment.
“I made an oath nikasema sitatoa hii helmet yangu hadi nione kila mtu wa bike amevaa helmet,” Brayo stated.
For him, the helmet has therefore become more than just part of his appearance or online identity. It represents a personal campaign encouraging fellow riders to take road safety seriously.
His decision has also helped create one of the most recognizable images around his online persona, with fans becoming accustomed to seeing him behind the visor.

He Turned Down KSh5 Million
Brayo’s commitment to keeping the helmet on previously attracted even more attention when businessman Simon Kabu challenged him to remove it in exchange for KSh5 million.
Despite the huge amount of money attached to the challenge, Brayo reportedly declined to take off the helmet.
The decision has continued to fuel curiosity among fans who have wondered whether he would ever reveal his face publicly.
However, his latest comments suggest that Brayo is less concerned about maintaining a mystery and more interested in standing by the promise he made after witnessing accidents on the road.
