With milk deliveries to processors declining amid the current shortage, Agricultural Extension Officer Hannah Kiarie is calling for greater farmer training on climate-smart fodder production. Kiarie says unreliable rainfall and diminishing pasture are affecting livestock productivity, while expensive commercial feeds worsen the situation. She wants extension officers to train farmers on suitable grass varieties, pasture establishment and silage-making to ensure adequate feed supplies and sustain milk production during dry seasons.
