Tuk-tuk operators across Kenya have expressed willingness to transition to electric vehicles following a meeting with Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi. Speaking at Kawi Complex in Nairobi, representatives of the Tuk-Tuk Operators Network pledged to support the proposed National Tuk-Tuk Energy, Peace and Resilience Campaign 2026–2027. Wandayi said the eight-month campaign will cover all 47 counties, promoting cleaner, affordable transport and charging infrastructure, while creating jobs in assembly, repairs, battery services and clean-energy supply chains.
