Standard Group Associate Editor Alex Kiprotich has been found dumped in a thicket in Masinga, Machakos County, hours after he was allegedly abducted along the Gilgil–Nakuru Highway. People who found him say he appeared injured and shaky before being rushed to hospital for treatment. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and how he ended up in Masinga remain unclear. The company says the incident may be linked to attempts to intimidate it into silence, following a similar failed abduction in June.
