The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has re-advertised 1,631 promotional vacancies for serving teachers, with applications closing on September 14, 2026.
The vacancies cover the positions of Deputy Principal III, Senior Master II and Deputy Headteacher II.
According to the re-advertisement, TSC is seeking to fill 132 positions of Deputy Principal III (Regular), Grade D1, and 29 positions of Senior Master II, also in Grade D1.
The largest number of vacancies is for Deputy Headteacher II (Regular), Grade C4, with 1,470 positions available.
TSC said serving teachers who meet the prescribed qualifications should submit their applications online through its portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke.
Applications must be received by midnight on Monday, September 14, 2026.
The Commission said candidates who applied for the same positions under the earlier advertisement and successfully submitted their applications do not need to apply again.
It also said successful candidates will be posted to institutions where vacancies exist.
“Only applications submitted through the online portal will be considered. Manual applications will not be accepted,” TSC said in the notice.

The recruitment notice comes alongside a separate vacancy announced by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) for its Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer.
KNCHR is seeking one person to serve as Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer on a five-year contract, renewable once.
The position is based in Nairobi, with occasional travel. The salary and benefits will be as prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
The successful applicant will report to the Chairperson of KNCHR.
According to the notice, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a degree from a university recognised in Kenya.
They must also have at least 10 years of proven experience at management level and satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
In addition, applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field and demonstrate experience in human rights, governance, public administration, management, finance, political science or related fields.
KNCHR also requires applicants to have at least five years’ experience at senior management level, preferably in a public institution or comparable organisation.
Applicants must also have completed a senior leadership course lasting at least six weeks at a recognised institution.
KNCHR said applicants can view the full requirements on its careers page and submit their applications through its recruitment portal.
Applications for the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer position should be addressed to the Chairperson, Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.
The deadline is Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EAT.
