A warm welcome home
Babytop was met by fans and people close to her at the airport. Some carried bouquets as they welcomed her back to Kenya.
Photos and videos from the arrival showed the presenter embracing those who had come to receive her before posing for pictures.
“My land in Kenya,” Babytop wrote in a message accompanying footage of her arrival.
She also thanked God for what she described as a memorable stay in the United States.
The journey back to Kenya included a stopover in Doha, Qatar. Babytop had shared details of her final flight with followers, including an expected arrival time in Nairobi of 11.50pm.
Life in the United States
During her time abroad, Babytop kept her audience updated through social media.
In August, she shared a rare photo featuring her son Adrian during what appeared to be a shopping outing in Boston, Massachusetts. She accompanied the post with a light-hearted message about wanting an extended holiday.
Her posts gave followers an opportunity to see parts of her life away from the radio studio and her usual work in Kenya.
The trip also came during an active period in her career, with the presenter remaining connected to her Kenyan audience through digital platforms.
Back to the Kenyan airwaves
Babytop's return is also significant for listeners who have followed her career at Kameme FM.
She joined the station in 2012 after beginning her radio career at Bahasha FM in 2011. She later became one of the recognisable voices in Kikuyu-language broadcasting.
She is associated with the popular Canjamuka programme, where she has built a reputation for entertainment, humour and interaction with listeners.
Her influence has also extended beyond radio into social media, events and the Mugithi entertainment scene.
A presenter with a strong audience
Babytop's airport reception highlighted the connection she has maintained with her audience.
Her career has been built largely around vernacular broadcasting, but her social media presence has allowed her to remain visible even while thousands of kilometres away from Kenya.
