Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone has become a grandfather after his 20-year-old son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, welcomed his first child with girlfriend Angelica Becker in the United States.
The couple’s baby boy, named Zuriel Eden Mayanja, was born on August 28, 2026.
Marcus shared a photograph of himself and Angelica holding their newborn outdoors near a Chevrolet Silverado.
He posted the image on Facebook on Sunday, August 30, without adding a caption.

The arrival of the baby marks a new chapter for the young couple after months of public relationship troubles.
From pregnancy announcement to parenthood
Marcus and Angelica had announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first child.
Their relationship later became the subject of public attention after the two exchanged accusations on social media.

Despite the public dispute, the couple were together for the birth of their son.
Arrest in Minnesota
The birth came about two weeks after Marcus was arrested in Minnesota.
Edina Police booked the 20-year-old on August 14 on a misdemeanour domestic assault charge. The booking record describes the allegation as an act intended to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death.
Marcus appeared in court on August 17 and was released under conditional, non-cash terms. His case remains pending, and the charge has not resulted in a conviction. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

“I’m learning from this, and I’m committed to being better.”

The birth also marks a major family milestone for Jose Chameleone, one of Uganda’s best-known musicians.
Chameleone, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, has enjoyed a career spanning more than two decades and remains a prominent figure in East African music.
