Kenyan content creator Holy Dave has playfully challenged fellow creators to check when they started using voiceovers, claiming he was already using the style before it became common among other creators.
Holy Dave made the remarks while reflecting on his journey in content creation and the different styles he has used over the years.
‘I Remember Guys Were Not Doing Voiceovers’
Holy Dave said that when he started using voiceovers, the style was not common among the creators he encountered.

According to the content creator, things changed after he began using the format, with several other creators later incorporating voiceovers into their own content.
He claimed that some of the people who eventually adopted the style were even creators he had met during his early days in the industry.
“I remember after I started doing, so many people waka anza. Hata watu nilipata kwa game hiyo time. Na mnajijua guys.”

Holy Dave then challenged fellow creators to look back at their old content and establish when they first started using voiceovers.
“Tuangalie voiceovers zenu mlianza when.”
He made it clear that his remarks were intended as playful teasing towards fellow creators who knew the period he was referring to.
“Na mnajijua guys. Hii nimesema kuwachokoza, but imagine ni ukweli.”
Holy Dave repeated his challenge, asking creators to go through their old content and determine when they began incorporating voiceovers.
His comments centre on his personal experience and timeline. He did not provide evidence in the remarks to establish that he was officially the first Kenyan creator to use voiceovers.

Kush Tracey is another prominent food-focused creator and has been reported to have more than 1.2 million followers across her platforms.
Other recognised names include Mandi Sarro, known for local and exotic recipes, and Sueh Owino, who has gained attention for viral cooking experiments.
Akoko Val is also among Kenyan creators who share cooking and food-related content online.
