Construction of the 94 per cent complete Thwake Multi-Purpose Water Development Programme in Makueni County has resumed after the government secured funding from the African Development Bank. Water CS Eric Mugaa said the contractor is mobilising back to site following stakeholder engagements to accelerate completion. The Ministry is prioritising critical works, including the dam’s upstream concrete face, the bridge linking Makueni and Kitui counties, and installation of the dam gates.
