Families affected by historical land injustices continue seeking justice decades after displacement, irregular allocations and evictions. The National Land Commission (NLC) received 3,742 historical land injustice claims by the September 2021 deadline, admitting 1,037 for further investigation. Coast counties accounted for 2,624 claims, more than 65% of cases under review. Claimants can present titles, maps, court records, photographs, correspondence and witness testimonies, but missing records remain a major hurdle.
