Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has insisted that her relationship with Mugithi singer Samidoh is firmly in the past after screenshots of a private conversation between her and a woman surfaced online.
The exchange began after the woman, who identified herself as Bibi ya Chief, sent Nyamu a photo of Samidoh with his wife, Edday Nderitu.

The conversation quickly shifted from the photo to Nyamu’s personal life, with the senator appearing to push back against attempts to link her to her former relationship.

In the leaked screenshots, Nyamu said she had met someone else but suggested she had not initially intended to make the information public.
“Truth is, I met someone,” Nyamu wrote, according to the screenshots shared online.
She then directed the woman to a song titled Toxic Love on YouTube, using it to make a point about her past with Samidoh.
“Ingia YouTube uskize wimbo inaitwa toxic love bila haraka alafu uwache ku force my past to be relevant over 2 years later,” she wrote.
The senator appeared to be telling her critic that her previous relationship should no longer be used to define her current life.

The woman who shared the screenshots had apparently sent Nyamu a photo showing Samidoh alongside Edday.
Their relationship has remained a subject of public interest for years, particularly because Nyamu and Samidoh have two children together while the singer has also remained connected to Edday.

Nyamu, however, has recently given a different account of where she stands with Samidoh.
