Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has conveyed his condolences to Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale following the death of the senator’s wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, Gachagua described the loss of a spouse as a painful experience and expressed sympathy to Khalwale and his family as they mourn.
“My brother, Senator Dr Bonny Khalwale, pole sana on the demise of your dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, today,” Gachagua said.
He acknowledged the pain that comes with losing a loved one and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.
“Losing a loved one, and for that matter a spouse, is a painful ordeal. Please accept my deepest sympathies to you and your family during this difficult moment. May the Almighty God give you peace and great understanding to withstand this painful loss,” he said.
Gachagua also extended his condolences to the people of Kakamega County, as well as relatives and friends of the senator, urging them to remain strong during the period of mourning.
“To the people of Kakamega County, and to all friends and relatives of Senator Bonny, poleni sana,” he said.
He concluded his message with a prayer for the late Gloria.
“May the soul of Gloria rest in eternal peace, and may perpetual light shine upon her forever.”
The condolence message followed Khalwale’s announcement that his wife had died on Saturday morning after suffering a heart attack.
According to the senator, Gloria suddenly collapsed before her death.
“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack,” Khalwale said.
He described Gloria as a beloved member of his family and the mother of their children.
Gloria was the mother of Engine Kukaste Khalwale, Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale and Maura Makatse Khalwale.
Her death has prompted an outpouring of condolence messages from leaders, relatives and friends, who have continued to comfort the family as they come to terms with the sudden loss.
