President William Ruto is presiding over the 46th Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) passing out parade in Eldoret.

The ceremony marks the completion of basic military training by recruits and their transition into trained members of the armed forces.

Recruits are expected to demonstrate military drills and other skills acquired during their training. The ceremony may also feature an inspection of the graduates, military band performances and the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits.

The event also provides an opportunity for families and friends to witness the recruits formally graduate from their training.

A passing out parade is a significant military ceremony that marks the end of an intensive training period and the beginning of service as trained personnel.
