Reality television star Jawahir Khalifa has opened up about modern relationships, saying finding genuine love has become increasingly difficult in a generation where toxic behaviour is often turned into entertainment.
In a video shared on Instagram, Jawahir said she struggles to understand why being a good person can sometimes feel difficult in today’s dating culture.
“It’s so hard to find love in this generation. We have romanticised toxic love.”

Jawahir said she still hopes to meet a man who is educated, kind, caring and God-fearing.
She described herself as a “lover girl” who wants a healthy relationship, but said repeated experiences have made her feel that toxic behaviour has become normalised.
“I find it hard to stay good, but I still choose to be a good person,” she said.
She explained that choosing fear can feel easier because it allows people to remain comfortable in familiar habits, while choosing love requires vulnerability and personal growth.
“When you live from a place of love, you challenge yourself, you change your habits, and you become a better version of yourself.”
Reflecting On Her Toxic Reel
Jawahir’s comments came after she reflected on an earlier reel in which she joked about making 12 men cry during the year.
In the post, she said her target was 22 and joked that the men would “pay for what Emmanuel did to me”.
She later acknowledged that while the reel was funny and entertaining, it also carried a toxic message.
The reaction to the post made her think about how social media can influence people’s attitudes towards relationships.
“Social media has made us romanticise toxic behaviour so much that sometimes we forget: it’s actually cool to be a good person.”
Choosing Love Over Fear
Jawahir said living from a place of love is more difficult because it requires people to open up, trust others and accept that they could be hurt.
However, she argued that vulnerability is part of building meaningful relationships.
Her views also reflect themes she has discussed in the past. Jawahir became widely known after appearing on Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle Season 4, where she formed a relationship with Nick Kici. The pair eventually won the season.
In a previous interview, she said the relationship taught her about vulnerability, communication and allowing herself to love.
