The United States government has announced an additional Sh31 billion to support immediate Ebola response and preparedness in Africa, including strengthening Kenya's health system against the virus. In a statement, the U.S Department of State said the additional funding will support immediate Ebola response and preparedness in D.R Congo and Uganda, as well as humanitarian assistance linked to the outbreak. The funding will support surveillance and detection, isolation and treatment of Ebola patients.
