Kenya’s entertainment scene was busy over the weekend of August 8 and 9, with music, motorsport, football, culture, and film taking centre stage across the country.

The group was scheduled to perform at Masshouse on Saturday, August 8, giving fans the chance to experience their energetic live show.
Matata has built a following through a sound that blends genge, Afrobeat, Sheng and traditional Kenyan influences.
The line-up included Chris Kaiga, Kapitani, Bensoul,Watendawili, X.O and Joshua Baraka, alongside Matata. Promotional material for the show also highlighted Kahush, who performed at the event.

2. Solfest on the Road – Eldoret
Solfest continued its journey outside Nairobi as part of its nationwide road tour.
The music experience has been taking performances and entertainment to different towns, giving fans outside the capital an opportunity to experience the festival.
Eldoret was among the destinations on the Solfest on the Road schedule.
The line-up featured Sean MMG, Lil Maina, Boutross, Buruklyn Boyz ,Breeder, Maandy ,Dyana Cods, Ssaru ,Fathermoh and Sir M among other performers under the Urban Sol Collective.
The event brought together music fans for a weekend of performances and entertainment, further expanding Solfest’s reach across the country.
3. Manchester vs Arsenal Fans Match
Football rivalry was taken off social media and onto the pitch whenManchester and Arsenalfans faced each other in a highly anticipated exhibition match.
The fixture brought supporters of the two English Premier League clubs together for a battle of bragging rights. Manchester fans eventually walked away with the win.
The match provided a lighter version of the rivalry normally seen between the two clubs, with fans themselves taking centre stage.

4. Sunset Corsa
Motoring enthusiasts had their own major attraction with Sunset Corsa.
The event brought together car lovers, drivers and spectators for a weekend centred on performance cars and motorsport.
The programme featured racing activities, with enthusiasts turning out to watch some of the country’s fastest and most modified cars.
Sunset Corsa also highlighted the growing popularity of car culture and motorsport events among young Kenyans.
5. Tides Premiere Night
The music romance drama was written and directed by Reuben Odanga and features actors including Sarah Hassan, Brian Kabugi, Minne Kariuki and South African actor Dumisani Mbebe.
Set against the Kenyan coast, the film follows musicians dealing with relationship struggles, financial difficulties and family challenges.
The production also combines film and music, making the soundtrack an important part of the story.
The premiere brought members of the cast, creatives and guests together to celebrate the new production.
6. Mkisii Fest 5
Mkisii Fest 5 brought culture and entertainment to Nairobi on Saturday.
The festival was held at the KICC Grounds and celebrated Kisii culture through music, food, fashion and entertainment.
Organisers also encouraged attendees to embrace a denim and Ankara dress code, giving the event a distinctive visual identity.
The festival featured live entertainment and cultural experiences while bringing together members of the Kisii community and other Nairobi residents.
Ticket categories ranged from regular admission to VVIP packages, with advance tickets starting from KSh2,000.
Mkisii Fest 5 ended the weekend’s entertainment line-up with a celebration of culture, music and community.
