Police in Bondo have launched intensive investigations into the mysterious murder of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer at his home in Barchando village, Bondo Sub-County, last night.
According to the area Sub County Police Commandant, Peter Leparsare, the late Corporal Henry Okelo was stabbed to death by hooded assailants who broke into his house while he was asleep with his wife.
Leparsare disclosed that Okello, a GSU officer attached to GSU headquarters, was at home on off-duty to attend a relative’s burial on Saturday and was scheduled to travel back to Nairobi today (Monday).
He said the police were alerted about the cold-blooded murder of the officer by village elder Wilfred Otieno and immediately rushed to the scene, where preliminary investigations indicate that nothing was stolen by the assailants.
The body was removed to Bondo Sub County Hospital and is awaiting postmortem.
