The government has introduced sweeping reforms, including a digital vehicle tracking system to monitor all state vehicles in real time. The system will track authorised drivers, fuel use, mileage and maintenance records. Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said misuse of government plates, poor record-keeping and unaccounted donor-funded vehicles have weakened oversight. He emphasised that every shilling spent on fuel, insurance, maintenance and replacements must deliver value and improve services to wananchi.
