A former Deputy Director of Audit at the Office of the Auditor General has denied charges of fraudulently obtaining Sh28.4 million in salaries by allegedly using a forged university degree certificate to secure employment. Hannah Wambui Mwaura pleaded not guilty before the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court and was released on Sh450,000 cash bail or a Sh1 million bond. The case follows investigations by the EACC, which plans to pursue recovery of the alleged payments.
