Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartelhas confirmed that he and his fiancée, Sidem Ozturk, are expecting their first child together, sharing the news during a headline performance at Reggae Land UK.
The announcement came as Kartel closed out the festival’s biggest-ever edition with a 90-minute set before an estimated 60,000 fans. The performance marked his first UK appearance of 2026 and was one of the most anticipated moments of the three-day reggae and dancehall event.

During the performance, the self-proclaimed World Boss played his 2009 song Breed Me, featuring Gaza Indu, before turning his attention to Ozturk, who was on stage with him.
The dancehall star was seen affectionately rubbing his fiancée’s baby bump before telling the audience to “read between the lines”, prompting loud cheers from the crowd and effectively confirming the couple were expecting their first child together.

Kartel is now set to return to the UK on 9 September, when he will headline the highly anticipated Gaza vs Gully concert at London’s O2 Arena alongside fellow Jamaican star Mavado.
