Safaricom has unveiled a customer-focused campaign that significantly increases the value of its data bundles, lowers mobile money transaction costs and enhances digital services for customers.

This as the household giant deepens its push to become Africa's leading purpose-led technology company.

"Dubbed PATA MORE, the campaign is designed to give subscribers more data, more convenience and lower costs across connectivity, payments, devices and home internet, reinforcing the company's strategy of delivering greater value through technology."

The campaign introduces substantially enhanced data bundles without increasing prices. Customers purchasing a Sh20 daily bundle will now receive 250MB of data, up from the previous 150MB.

The Sh99 daily bundle has been increased to 1.5GB from 1GB, while customers buying the Sh1,000 monthly package will now enjoy 21.5GB, more than double the previous allocation of 10GB.

The expanded offers come as demand for affordable mobile internet continues to rise, driven by increasing digital adoption, online learning, remote work, video streaming and mobile commerce.

Mobile money users will also benefit from lower transaction costs under the campaign.

Through Pochi Kadogo, customers can now send up to Sh200 free of charge using Pochi la Biashara, double the previous free transaction limit of Sh100.

For transactions above Sh200, charges will be capped at Sh50 for the next 90 days, reducing costs for millions of users who rely on M-Pesa for everyday payments.

Small businesses are also set to gain. Safaricom has raised the Lipa na M-Pesa Buy Goods Kadogo threshold from Sh200 to Sh500.

This allows merchants to retain more of their earnings while encouraging greater adoption of digital payments among micro and small enterprises.

The company has also enhanced the merchant payment experience through Scan and Tap to Pay, enabling faster and simpler checkout processes for customers.

Beyond payments, PATA MORE extends value across Safaricom's wider digital ecosystem.

Customers purchasing devices, including the Neon Ultra 2 smartphone, will receive bundled voice and data packages together with device insurance.

The handset will be available through daily instalments of Sh55, making smartphone ownership more accessible.

Motorists and motorcycle riders subscribed to Bundle Ya Dereva and Bundle Ya Boda will receive packages combining connectivity with productivity tools, including free access to ride-hailing applications, Google Maps and Tuunza Mapato insurance.

Home internet users have also been targeted under the campaign.

Safaricom Fibre customers will enjoy internet speeds that are up to 2.5 times faster across various plans, alongside family sharing features and more flexible connectivity options.

For enterprises, Fibre for Business customers will receive enhanced internet speeds as well as built-in cybersecurity features capable of blocking malicious websites, preventing risky downloads and detecting suspicious online activity in real time.

The campaign also consolidates customer services through the One App, allowing subscribers to manage their accounts, purchase bundles, browse offers and access customer support from a single platform.

Users can also interact with the AI-powered Zuri assistant via WhatsApp, the One App or the Zuri Voice Bot by dialling 100.

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa said the campaign was informed by customer feedback and the need to provide practical everyday value.

"We understand that every choice our customers make matters, whether it is staying connected, sending money, running a business or supporting their families. That is why we continue to listen closely and respond with solutions that offer practical, everyday value."

"Through PATA MORE, we want to give our customers more from the services they rely on most, and ensure we continue to show up for them with care, simplicity and support when they need us most."

The campaign aligns with Safaricom's Vision 2030, the company's five-year roadmap to transform itself into Africa's leading purpose-led technology company.

It includes embedding artificial intelligence across its operations, accelerating growth in Ethiopia and expanding M-Pesa's digital financial services ecosystem.

It also reinforces Safaricom's long-standing brand purpose of "Transforming Lives".
