The Nairobi Revenue Authority (NRA) has launched an aggressive campaign targeting property owners who have failed to pay land rates for over three years. Six debt recovery firms have been appointed to recover outstanding arrears across the city’s boroughs. Persistent defaulters risk property attachment and auction, Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) listing, and legal action. The exercise aims to boost revenue, with only about 20% of Nairobi’s 250,000 property owners currently compliant.
