Kenyan content creator Mjaka Mfine is mourning the death of her childhood best friend, Kombora, whom he described as a brother and one of the most important people in his life.
Mjaka shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional post on his Instagram account, reflecting on a friendship that began when they were both in Class Three.
In the lengthy tribute, she said he was struggling to come to terms with the loss, admitting that it still felt unreal.
"Today is one of the hardest days of my life because I have to say goodbye to someone who has been part of my story for so many years."

In her tribute, Mjaka recounted how she and Kombora grew up together, sharing childhood experiences, teenage memories and milestones that shaped their lives.

"We've known each other since Class 3. We grew up together, laughed together, made countless memories together, and watched each other become the people we are today."
Mjaka added that Kombora had become much more than a friend over the years.
"You weren't just my best friend; you were my brother by choice, my safe place, my biggest supporter, and one of the few people who truly understood me without me having to explain myself."
"My Heart Is Shattered"
The content creator said she was struggling to accept that she would never hear Kombora's voice again or receive another message from him.
She reflected on the dreams they had hoped to achieve together and expressed sadness that they would never create new memories.
"My heart is shattered knowing that I will never hear your voice again, never receive another message from you, never laugh at your jokes, or make new memories together."
Mjaka also wrote that death had taken her friend far too soon but said the impact Kombora had made on those around him would never be forgotten.
She concluded the tribute with a heartfelt prayer.
"I pray that wherever you are now, you are at peace. I hope heaven welcomes you with the same warmth and love you showed everyone here on earth."
