New HIV infections among young Kenyans have declined significantly over the past six years, according to a new government report. Despite the progress, young people still account for more than half of all new HIV infections. Kenya recorded 13,936 new infections last year, including 4,321 among people aged 15 to 24. The report also found that 38% of new HIV infections among children were linked to mothers discontinuing antiretroviral therapy (ART).
