Kenyan content creator and aspiring DJ Pritty Vishyhas announced that she is stepping away from social media, days after opening up about the emotional toll of her first public DJ performance.
The influencer shared a lengthy message on her Instagram Stories, saying she never expected her transition into DJing could attract so much negativity or reopen old wounds with people she once considered friends.
"For the first time, I'm choosing to take a break and step away from social media to protect my peace. I need time to breathe, to heal, and to clear my mind," Vishy said.

Pritty's latest update comes shortly after she spoke candidly about her first DJ set, which she described as an emotionally difficult experience.
The content creator revealed that becoming a DJ had been a long-held ambition. She said she had spent years dreaming about the career but was held back by financial constraints, including the cost of training and buying DJ equipment. She eventually enrolled for lessons and began pursuing the craft despite the challenges.
After her debut performance, Pritty admitted she broke down in tears when the set did not go as she had hoped. She explained that technical issues affected the performance, despite spending time preparing and practising beforehand.
'I feel defeated'
In her latest statement, Pritty said the criticism that followed her DJ debut has left her emotionally drained.

"I've built my brand on my own, with hard work, consistency, and determination. Seeing everything I've worked for feel like it's falling apart over something so small is heartbreaking. I feel defeated. I feel exhausted."
She added that the backlash had affected her confidence and left her questioning her strength.
"I honestly don't have the strength I once had."
The influencer also reflected on her emotional state, saying she currently feels overwhelmed and lost.
"At this moment, I feel lost, overwhelmed, and hopeless. I'm just a girl trying her best, carrying more than most people will ever see."
She concluded by expressing hope that she would eventually regain her strength.
Support from fans and industry figures
Following her earlier emotional post about her first DJ performance, many fans offered messages of encouragement across social media.

Veteran DJ Pierra Makena also publicly urged Pritty not to abandon her new career, saying setbacks are common for beginners in the industry and encouraging her to keep learning and improving.
Pritty only recently announced her move into DJing, describing it as a new chapter in her career after building a following as a content creator and influencer. Her transition has generated mixed reactions online, with some supporters praising her willingness to learn while others questioned her readiness for live performances.
