Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has assured Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja of the government’s confidence in his work ethic, professionalism and track record. Murkomen’s remarks came after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua alleged that Kanja had fake academic credentials. The CS dismissed claims of a looming impeachment, saying Kanja was properly vetted before his appointment and continues to enjoy the full confidence of President William Ruto’s administration.
