Former Machachari actor Malik Lemuel, popularly known as Govi, has opened up about an incident in the United States in which he says he was assaulted after allegedly speaking to another man's partner during a night out.
The actor shared his account in a candid video posted on Instagram, explaining that the incident happened while he was out with friends in Bellevue, Washington.

Govi said the man accused him of speaking to his wife before allegedly attacking him without allowing him to explain.
"A man came up to me and started accusing me of talking to his wife. Before I could explain, he assaulted me," Govi said in the video.

Beyond the alleged assault, Govi said he was deeply hurt by the reaction of some Kenyans who were present at the venue.
According to him, instead of intervening or checking on his well-being, several people chose to watch as the confrontation unfolded.
"What disappointed me most was seeing fellow Kenyans watch everything happen without stepping in," he said.
"I will never ever ever talk to them again. I'm done with that," he said, adding the pointed declaration that has since given the video its widest circulation: "Never trust Kenyans abroad." he added.
Govi urged people to avoid making assumptions during confrontations and encouraged members of the diaspora to look out for one another in difficult situations.
