Treasury CS John Mbadi has announced new thematic requirements for the upcoming budget cycle, mandating that all public expenditures be climate-tagged to manage environmental risks. Speaking at the launch of the FY 2027/28 and Medium-Term Budget Preparation Process, Mbadi noted that the government is also mainstreaming social equity by introducing mandatory tagging for programs addressing the needs of children, persons with disabilities and gender-sensitive initiatives.
