For many Kenyans running small businesses, every extra shilling earned represents another opportunity to grow. For Nairobi barber Jossy Kioko, that opportunity arrived unexpectedly — through a bottle purchase that ended with a life-changing Sh1 million windfall.
Kioko has become the first millionaire in Kenya Wine Agencies Limited's (KWAL) ongoing Form Imejipa Na County campaign, a nationwide consumer promotion that has already rewarded tens of thousands of participants since its launch in early June.
Receiving the prize at KWAL's offices, an emotional Kioko said the money would not simply be a celebration but an investment in the future of her business.
"I am very happy. I can now expand my barbershop business with the prize money and continue to improve our future," she said.
Her story is one of many emerging from the campaign, which has increasingly become associated with rewarding everyday Kenyans while highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the country's economy.
Kioko was not the only winner during the prize handover ceremony. Edward Nyaga, Mauryne Mutua and Emmanuel Odhiambo walked away with laptops, while Rael Maseso, Irene Muthuka and Mauryne Mutua received smartphones after participating in the campaign.
According
to KWAL, more than 48,000 consumers across the country have already won various
prizes within just over a month of the promotion's rollout, reflecting strong
participation from different regions.
The campaign, launched on June 3, 2026, was designed around the idea of celebrating hardworking Kenyans by offering rewards that resonate with their daily lives and ambitions.
Rather than limiting prizes to cash alone, participants have the opportunity to win items that can support both personal and business growth.
Monthly draws feature rewards such as Sh1 million in cash, laptops, smartphones, pool tables and content creator kits, while weekly winners stand a chance to receive motorcycles, shopping vouchers and instant cash prizes.
Daily airtime rewards are also available through scratch-and-win entries.
Speaking about the initiative, KWAL Commercial Director Alice Mwalimo said the campaign was created to recognize consumers by offering practical rewards that reflect their lifestyles and aspirations.
"We are celebrating our consumers and have made an effort to provide rewards that match our customers' lifestyles, such as airtime, cash, motor bikes, pool tables or content creator kits for those who are dedicated to their labour and pursuing progress," she said.

Participation in the promotion is straightforward. Consumers aged 18 years and above who purchase eligible 250ml or 750ml bottles of County Brandy can scratch the label panel to reveal a unique entry code before submitting it through the toll-free USSD code 4599#.
The promotion will continue running until August 31, 2026, meaning more Kenyans still have an opportunity to win prizes in the remaining weekly and monthly draws.
For Kioko, however, the biggest prize extends beyond the cash itself. The million-shilling reward represents an opportunity to strengthen her business, create new possibilities and write a different chapter in her entrepreneurial journey—proof
