Star photographer and journalist Enos Teche was attacked in Ol Kalou town after violence broke out during a parliamentary by-election. Voting had been peaceful since early morning until masked men arrived in a Prado and lobbed tear gas near St Joseph's Catholic Comprehensive School polling centre. As the only photographer at the scene, Teche said the assailants surrounded him, interrogated him and seized his camera. He adds that the individuals beat him on the chest and twisted his hand, nearly dislocating it, leaving him injured.
