Chief Justice Martha Koome has urged newly installed Court of Appeal President Justice Gatembu Kairu to prioritise speedy resolution of appeals and reduction of case backlog, noting thousands of Kenyans are still awaiting justice. Speaking during Kairu’s installation in Nairobi, Koome said every pending appeal represents individuals, families and businesses seeking certainty and closure, underscoring the urgent need to accelerate case determination across the appellate court system for all citizens.
