Western Region will be crucial to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's chances of mounting a successful 2027 presidential bid, political analyst Calvin Muga has said. Muga argues that Sifuna must first win the support of his political backyard before seeking national backing. His remarks come as influential Western leaders, including Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, and COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, have declared their support for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
