Senators have accused the Ministry of Environment of failing to enforce pollution laws despite an elaborate legal framework. Legislators told Environment CS Deborah Barasa that weak implementation has left Kenyans exposed to toxic waste, industrial emissions and contaminated water. They also criticized NEMA, saying the agency has failed to effectively protect the environment and public health.
