STI cases are on the rise in Nairobi's Kamukunji Sub-County, with young people accounting for the majority of new cases. Clinical Officer Joash Agutu of AHF Mathare Medical and Wellness Centre says nearly eight in every ten patients treated for STIs are aged between 18 and 35 years. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea accounts for the highest number of infections at 35% and 30% respectively, followed by Syphilis at 6%. He is urging sexually active Kenyans to seek regular screening and early treatment.
