The government has announced a fresh Sh945 million fuel subsidy and extended tax relief on petroleum products to protect Kenyans from a possible increase in fuel prices.Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi also announced that the government has extended the 8 per cent VAT on petroleum products for another three months until October this year. He said the extension to allow consumers to continue benefiting from the lower tax rate while cushioning households and businesses from volatile global oil prices.
