Mwafreeka has opened up about his strained relationship with former Iko Nini co-host Rapcha, admitting that despite their public fallout, he still misses him and hopes they can one day rebuild their friendship.
Speaking during an interview on Too Personal with 2Mbili, the content creator reflected on the breakdown of their long-standing relationship, saying the pair are “not as good as I’d want us to be” but insisting there is no ill will on his part.
MWAF admits he misses Rapcha
MWAF described Rapcha as more than just a former colleague, saying their bond was built over many years before they became one of Kenya’s popular online comedy duos.

“That’s like a brother to me. I know this might sound gay, but I miss that dude. That’s my brother. That’s someone that I love. I want the best for him.”
The disagreement that eventually drove them apart stemmed from preparations for one of Rapcha’s stand-up performances.
He explained that he felt Rapcha had not rehearsed enough and pushed him to prepare better because he wanted him to deliver a strong performance. Looking back, however, he admits he may have handled the situation differently.
“There are times I sit down and regret and think maybe I should have done things differently.”
The pair had worked together on Iko Nini, a digital entertainment show that built a loyal online following through comedy, commentary and celebrity interviews.
‘He brought value to my life’
While acknowledging that Rapcha may not see things the same way, MWAF said he remains grateful for everything they achieved together.
He revealed they have known each other for nearly two decades, making the fallout particularly painful.
“I’ve known him for close to 20 years. That was painful, and it’s still painful to me. He brought value to my life, and he brought value to my content.”
MWAF added that the success of their collaborations also introduced Rapcha to a younger audience that may not have known him from his earlier work in radio and television.
Hoping for reconciliation
AlthoughRapcha has previously stated he would not want to work with him again, MWAF said he is not closing the door completely.
Instead, he hopes they can eventually put their differences aside, even if they never become business partners again.
He also blamed part of the fallout on outside influence, arguing that fans fuelled misunderstandings by convincing each side that the other had bad intentions.
MWAF maintained that he had encouraged Rapcha to start his own podcast and wanted to see him succeed independently.
“I wish him the best, and hopefully we move past it. Maybe we’ll never work together again, but I want us to reach a point where we can sit down, talk and just chill.”
