Matatu Owners Association President Albert Karakacha has urged national and county governments to dismantle what he calls cartels posing as vehicle owners at transport termini. Karakacha insists that only logbook holders be recognized as legitimate investors. His remarks follow three days of disruption at the Machakos Main Bus Station, where escalating tensions between rival matatu SACCOs have forced vehicle withdrawals and left passengers stranded.
