The High Court in Nairobi has issued orders restraining National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi from engaging in partisan politics while in office. Justice David Mburu issued the orders following a constitutional petition filed by Vocal Africa. The civil society organization argues that by actively participating in political campaigns, the two leaders have violated constitutional provisions governing the conduct and neutrality expected of holders of such offices.
