President William Ruto confirmed that the government has signed a contract to expand the JKIA. Speaking at State House after assenting to the Sovereign Wealth Fund law, Ruto said the Sh150 billion project will be financed through a Public Private Partnership, and not new taxes or additional borrowing. He said the financing model will help bridge infrastructure financing gaps while shielding taxpayers from extra financial burden.
